Social Media: Breaking Away From Isolation
Stefana Broadbent’s opinion of the social media issue was incredibly clear in her TED talk. She guffawed over the benefits of social networking, whether it be Facebook, Skype or even texting, explaining that they create a ”greater possibility of intimacy”, which I agree with. To an extent. Is utilizing Skype to chat with a family member in Iraq really equivalent with texting a friend while you’re both in school? It seemed to me as if she was arguing them on the same level. Thoughts?
