House.
As I gradually dig more in depth into blogs pertaining to the show House, I am becoming more intrigued by the online community. One forum in particular contains numerous topics for it’s members to spout off on. The majority of them discuss the episodes and analyze the characters, almost to a point where it seems as though the people posting are more consumed in the lives of the characters rather than their own.
Many people become furious over the actions of specific characters, saying “it’s out of House’s character to act like that!”. Seeing as House is not a real person, his character is whatever the writers envision it to be, is it not? Even so, I’ve found that a crazy amount of people feel as though they know what the characters are thinking during every moment of every episode.
Season 8 just began airing on TV a few weeks ago, and there are a few new main characters added to the cast. That being said, there is hot debate as to whether or not the specific actors/actresses can pull of being a leading man/lady and if the characters are adding to the show, or taking away from it. There are incredibly passionate people speaking from both sides of the spectrum.
I always knew people loved their TV shows, but I never knew people took it to this level of discussion! It will be interesting to continue following the blogs and see where it takes me. Good thing there is such lively discussion or I would have a pretty boring final project!
