Spotify

polyglotincarnate:

Yes, I know most of you probably use Pandora, but Spotify is almost better. You pick your playlists, it’s like iTunes. I think you can even buy music for your iTunes through Spotify.

But what’s really interesting is how Spotify is connected to facebook, so you can share playlists with your friends and get their playlists. It’s an interesting application of facebook and social media.

Just thought I’d share.

I completely agree! Pandora doesn’t allow you to skip more than three or so songs with a certain amount of time and simply plays songs that are similar to a specific artist. Spotify on the other hand provides the option of creating your own playlist and skipping around from song to song whenever your heart desires. This is especially nice for me since I rarely listen to a song all the way through before I get sidetracked by a different one. There is also an option to pay a monthly fee to rid the application of the advertisements between every few songs. As for me, I’m fine with the ads for the time being.

I also find the connection to Facebook incredibly interesting. Since discovering the application I have already found numerous new artists through seeing what my friends are listening to. What an awesome concept!
